Eriksen leaves Wolfsburg by mutual consent

Christian Eriksen has departed Wolfsburg by mutual consent, three months after collapsing during Denmark's friendly against Ukraine, despite a contract that had been set to run until June 2027. The 34-year-old said he needed to be close to family in Denmark, while Wolfsburg's Dieter Hecking said the decision was left to Eriksen and that he had made a lasting impression despite his short stint at the club. Eriksen joined Wolfsburg as a free agent a year ago after leaving Manchester United, made 34 appearances, but has not played since June.
