An independent commission has reportedly ruled on the 115 charges brought against Manchester City in February 2023 over alleged Premier League financial rule breaches between 2009 and 2018, with sources telling BBC Sport the club has been found guilty of the majority of charges, as first reported by the Athletic. The charges covered failures to provide accurate financial information, undisclosed manager and player payments, breaches of Uefa FFP and Premier League PSR rules, and failure to co-operate with investigations. City have consistently denied wrongdoing and are expected to appeal, and questions remain over potential sanctions such as points deductions, title stripping or relegation, as well as the timeline for any appeal process.
