F1 bosses to hold FIA talks over revolutionary rule change

Audi F1 boss Mattia Binotto has confirmed that an IndyCar-style "Push to Pass" overtaking aid is among the options being discussed as F1, teams and the FIA shape new engine regulations for a planned switch to V8 units around 2030-2031, replacing the current V6 turbo hybrids. Binotto said no format has been settled, with options including boost pressure, DRS-style systems or KERS-type electrical deployment, and that these details will be worked out with the FIA. He noted the rules need to be agreed and voted on by the end of this year to give manufacturers, including Audi, time to begin design work.
