Formula E to race full F1 Mexico City layout as Gen4 arrives

Formula E will use the full 4.3km Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez layout, matching F1's Mexico City configuration including the Foro Sol stadium section, for round three of the 2026/27 season on 16 January 2027, replacing the shortened ~2.6km track used previously. A new chicane will be added on the start-finish straight to create a heavy braking zone for energy regeneration. The switch is driven by the arrival of the Gen4 car, which brings 450kW race power, 600kW attack mode, permanent all-wheel drive and a 55kWh battery, requiring longer, faster circuits. Similar full-circuit moves are expected at Brands Hatch (its Formula E debut in May) and possibly rebranded British and Dutch E-Prix events, though Zandvoort's full layout will not be used.
