Hadjar Red Bull F1 contract length addressed after new deal confusion

Red Bull confirmed Isack Hadjar will remain as Max Verstappen's team-mate for 2027, having been promoted from Racing Bulls for the 2026 season. Hadjar himself admitted at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix that he did not know his new contract's length, saying he didn't mind since good performance secures a place. Team principal Laurent Mekies clarified Hadjar has a long-term deal via Red Bull's junior programme and that activating his 2027 option was an easy call given his strong pace, quick integration, and steady race-weekend progress. Mekies also addressed Hadjar's recovery from a wrist injury that sidelined him for three races, saying the team only brought him back once fully fit to avoid long-term risk.
