Moving components into the car's centreline to slim sidepods

F1 teams continue a trend of moving components toward the car's centreline to allow sidepods to slope downward at the rear for aerodynamic gains. Alpine's A523 follows this by enlarging the car's shoulders to channel hot air rearward, using cooling louvers on the shoulder sides and apertures on the engine cover ridge, continuing its longstanding design with a bulky airbox housing engine feed and cooling channels for a horizontally positioned central cooler. Ferrari's SF-23, by contrast, sticks to its usual approach of a very slim airbox.
