WIC Benefits Issued Remotely Increased Participation, Especially In States With Online Benefit Distribution, 2017–21

Remote issuance of WIC benefits was associated with increased program participation between 2017 and 2021, with the effect especially pronounced in states that offered online benefit distribution.
