D.C. United and Suwon Samsung Bluewings FC of South Korea's K League 2 have agreed on the permanent transfer of goalkeeper Kim Joon Hong, with Suwon exercising a buyout option following his loan there since January 2026. Kim had joined D.C. United from Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC on January 9, 2025, and played 11 matches for the club in 2025, making 23 saves with two clean sheets over more than 1,049 minutes. Since his loan to Suwon, he has appeared in 12 K League 2 matches, keeping six clean sheets across 1,080 minutes. D.C. United's Director of Football Operations, Dr. Erkut Sogut, thanked Kim for his season with the club and wished him well with the Bluewings.
