Gilberto Rivera joins Houston Dynamo

Houston Dynamo FC have signed midfielder Gilberto Rivera to a first team contract through June 2027, with club options through 2028-29. The 21-year-old joined the Dynamo as the 88th overall pick in the 2026 MLS SuperDraft out of San Jose State University, and progressed through Houston Dynamo 2, four short-term first-team loans, and a loan stint at USL Championship side Phoenix Rising FC before earning the deal. He is the second 2026 SuperDraft pick to sign a first team contract this season, following defender Agustin Resch in March.
