Houston Dynamo lose away match, stay second

Houston Dynamo FC lost 1-0 on the road to the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday, with Daniel Munie scoring the only goal in the 38th minute off a Beau Leroux assist. Despite the defeat, Houston remains in second place in the MLS Western Conference. The Dynamo had chances through Guilherme, Nick Markanich and Héctor Herrera late in the match, but Quakes goalkeeper Angus Gunn made multiple goal-line clearances to preserve the shutout. Houston next hosts FC Cincinnati at Shell Energy Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 19.
