NYCFC II signs defender Gabriel Mendonça

New York City FC II has signed defender Gabriel Mendonça through June 2027, with a club option for the 2027-28 MLS NEXT Pro season. The Florida-born player most recently played for Capivariano SAF in São Paulo, Brazil, after a youth career that began at CR Flamengo in 2018 and included a stint with FC Dallas' MLS NEXT Academy from 2023. He has represented clubs at the Generation adidas Cup in both 2022 (Flamengo) and 2024 (FC Dallas), and competed in the Paulistão U20 and Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior while at Capivariano.
