“We grew up playing soccer, so going to the Whitecaps is always a dream”: Coastal Wolf Pack excited to perform again at BC Place on Saturday

The Tsatsu Stalqayu, or Coastal Wolf Pack, a Coast Salish dance group founded in 2009 by elders Alec Dan and Iona Paul during the Vancouver Olympics, will perform again at BC Place on Saturday for Whitecaps FC's Indigenous Peoples Match against Real Salt Lake. The group, now spanning three generations and based out of Musqueam with members from communities including Nanaimo, Kuper Island, Tsartlip, Squamish, and Stó꞉lō, previously performed at the Whitecaps' first Indigenous Peoples Match in 2021. Member Anastasia Paul notes many in the family grew up playing soccer, making the performance especially meaningful, and they will appear during both pre-match and halftime.
