Whitecaps FC participating in MLS WORKS Greener Goals Week of Service on Earth Day

MLS WORKS launched its 5th Annual Greener Goals Week of Service, returning in-person for the first time since 2019 and running through Earth Day weekend to raise environmental awareness across the league. Vancouver Whitecaps FC is marking Earth Day, April 22, by partnering with the Strathcona Community Policing Centre and Admiral Seymour Elementary School for community and school-grounds cleanups; club alumni, the mascot and girls academy players will join a school assembly before helping clean the grounds, while staff clean up the Strathcona neighborhood with local volunteers. The initiative ties into MLS's broader sustainability efforts, including carbon-offset investments that have helped offset more than 28,000 tons of CO2 since 2018 through projects like emissions-reducing cookstoves in Kenya and Zambia and a forest conservation project in Brazil's Amazon.
