Palestinian officials visa ban amid UN General Assembly

Mohd Zaidi Mohd Said, chief of Umno's Permatang Pauh division, resigned as a Seberang Perai city councillor after remarks he made at an Umno assembly, where he claimed the opposition Democratic Action Party (DAP) feared losing power if Malay and Muslim voters united politically. His resignation took effect Monday, according to a letter made public by state local government committee chairman Jason H'ng Mooi Lye.
