Violence against South Asians in America

The US-Israel war on Iran has driven up energy and living costs across South Asia's nearly 2 billion people, who depend heavily on Gulf energy imports even though none of the region's countries is party to the conflict. India, the world's third-largest crude importer, buys about 85% of its oil and has diversified suppliers including Russia and the Americas, giving it more cushion than neighbors; Pakistan relies heavily on Gulf oil and Qatari gas with fewer alternatives; Bangladesh increasingly needs imported LNG as domestic gas production falls short; and landlocked Nepal has no direct Gulf imports but feels the shock indirectly through India, which supplies virtually all its fuel.
