US voter opposition to Iran military action
A new Fox News poll finds souring public opinion on the Trump administration's handling of the Iran war roughly seven months in: 71% of voters (including 95% of Democrats, 83% of independents and 43% of Republicans) say the administration lacks a clear strategy to end the conflict, 60% say the decision to take military action was wrong (up from a 17-point margin in June to 23 points now), and 47% believe the war will make the US less safe long-term, up from 39% in April. Trump's overall approval sits at 39%, with foreign-policy approval at 37% - a second-term low. Pollster Daron Shaw noted the public isn't rallying around the president as is typical in foreign crises, partly because Trump hasn't consistently made the case for the war and there are no US troops on the ground.
