An ICE shooting in Austin prompts calls for an independent investigation
An ICE officer shot someone during an operation in the 7000 block of West Anderson Lane in Austin, Texas, on the morning of Sunday 20 September 2026, according to Representative Greg Casar, a Democrat who represents the area. "ICE has shot a person in Austin this morning," Casar wrote on X, calling for a full, independent investigation and the immediate release of body-camera footage. "Over and over, ICE has shot people and then lied about what happened," he wrote. "We will demand truth, transparency and accountability."
