Trump and Zelensky's New York meeting
Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky said on Sunday 20 September 2026 that he had spoken to Donald Trump and the two had agreed to meet in New York during the coming week's UN General Assembly, in talks he said "could change a lot" toward resolving the war with Russia that began in February 2022. "We agreed to meet in New York, and this meeting could change a lot. There is diplomatic momentum," Zelensky wrote on social media.
