EU trade chief's China talks
China has signaled it can avoid an "escalation" in trade relations following talks with the EU's trade chief. The discussions, which the EU side framed as an effort to dial down tensions and secure "tangible outcomes," did not yield publicly detailed agreements. Chinese officials nonetheless indicated a willingness to prevent further deterioration in the trade relationship.
