Cancer GoFundMe Shut Down; 'Dialed Down' Drug Price Plan; Binge Drinking and Cancer
GoFundMe shut down a fundraiser that had collected more than $700,000 for an 81-year-old man working odd jobs to help pay for his wife's cancer treatment, citing "factual misrepresentations." Separately, the Trump administration's plan to lower Medicare drug prices—including for cancer therapies administered by hospitals and physicians under Part B—has been "dialed down" considerably compared with earlier versions. Additionally, new research from the American Association for Cancer Research suggests binge drinking may increase the cancer risk already associated with alcohol consumption.
