What to know about Trump's trusted aide Natalie Harp

Natalie Harp, 35, President Trump's executive assistant and one of his closest aides, drew unusual public scrutiny in mid-August after Georgia Senator Jon Ossoff referenced her in a viral campaign speech, criticizing Trump for prioritizing 'his ballroom and travel with Natalie on their apparently defenceless flying palace gifted by the emir of Qatar.' Ossoff's remarks referred both to the Qatari-gifted Air Force One and to reports that Harp was among the small group who accompanied Trump on a secretly swapped plane leaving a NATO summit in Turkey the previous month, after officials cited an Iranian threat. Known inside the White House as the 'human printer' for carrying a portable printer to give Trump hard copies of articles and social media posts, Harp -- officially just an 'executive assistant' -- has been described by sources as functioning as a 'gatekeeper' controlling the information Trump sees and as a 'comfort blanket' he rarely travels without; she also types many of his Truth Social posts in his voice.

Harp rose to MAGA prominence after crediting Trump's first-term Right to Try Act with saving her life during treatment for bone cancer, speaking at the 2020 Republican convention before working as a Trump-boosting host at One America News and rejoining his 2024 campaign. When a CNN reporter asked Trump directly about Ossoff's comments, the White House's official X account attacked the reporter personally, calling the question a 'cheap shot' and saying her children would be 'sickened and embarrassed' by it. Harp's brother told CNN her devotion to Trump stemmed from an early fascination with the presidency and gratitude for her cancer treatment access, while reporters Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan had separately written that Harp once told Trump in a letter, 'You are all that matters to me.'
