A Wisconsin governor candidate's plane lands on a lake
Wisconsin Rep. Tom Tiffany, the Trump-endorsed Republican nominee for governor, suffered minor injuries (a cut over his right eye) after the small plane he was in, a single-engine Beechcraft Bonanza piloted by Leonard Boltz, lost power and made an emergency landing on Lake Wausau on the night of September 12 while returning from a Lincoln Day Dinner event. Both men called 911, swam to shallow water as the plane began to submerge, and were rescued about 15 minutes later by a Wausau Fire Department airboat; they were treated at Aspirus Wausau Hospital and released. The cause of the power loss was under investigation by the FAA and NTSB. Democratic gubernatorial candidate David Crowley wished Tiffany a quick recovery and praised the pilot's heroism.
