Record migrant crossings in the English Channel

A total of 781 migrants crossed the English Channel in small boats in a single day, the highest daily figure recorded so far in 2026. The number surpasses the previous daily high for the year, underscoring the continued pressure on UK Channel crossing controls. Authorities are monitoring the situation as crossings persist despite ongoing enforcement efforts.
