Pope's visit to Lourdes on abuse

During his visit to Lourdes, Pope Francis met with victims of clerical sexual abuse and called for the "scourge" of abuse to be rooted out of the Church. He urged "wise leaders" to address the issue, remarks that come as France approaches upcoming elections. The visit forms part of ongoing efforts by the Vatican to confront the abuse crisis publicly.
