The Mexico surfer murders sentencing
A Mexican court sentenced three men to 158 years and nine months each in prison for murdering Australian brothers Jake and Callum Robinson and American Carter Rhoad during a 2024 surfing trip in Baja California. The men were convicted of homicide and robbery after prosecutors argued the killings occurred during a botched robbery of the victims' truck on a remote beach. The judge also ordered the men to pay compensation to the victims' families.
