The Dan Sullivan spoiler plot

Senator Dan Sullivan has accused a campaign tied to Mary Peltola of orchestrating what he calls the "biggest scandal in Alaskan electoral history," alleging it recruited a spoiler candidate nicknamed "Decoy Dan" to pull votes from him in Alaska's Senate race. The allegations emerged after nearly 10% of Alaskans had already cast ballots, fueling concern over the scheme's potential impact on the race's outcome. The Justice Department has not confirmed any investigation or filed charges, and the Peltola campaign's exact role remains disputed. The controversy also prompted a senior senator to break a four-year silence on X to comment on the matter.
