The ICE shooting in New York City

Federal immigration officials are defending the ICE agents involved in shooting a man during an enforcement stop in the Bronx, in which a child was present in the car. A federal court has blocked the man's removal, with officials describing him as having a violent criminal record. Mayor Mamdani has demanded his release, called on Trump to withdraw ICE from New York City, and renewed calls to abolish the agency, as protests continue in the Bronx.
