Katie Zacharia settles into the White House podium

Katie Zacharia's tenure as White House press secretary ended after roughly a week on the job, with the Los Angeles Times reporting she was fired on a Friday. Her brief run was marked by a stumbling debut at the briefing room podium and intensifying scrutiny over her claims to be a lawyer, claims the White House had initially defended. Trump had selected her for the role by bypassing his chief of staff, Susie Wiles, during the final stretch of the midterm campaign.
